MOPU Launching Ceremony
On 6th May 2006, Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd together with Global Process Systems Sdn Bhd
and Kencana HL Sdn Bhd have successfully launched
the Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) in Lumut.
The MOPU which has taken approximately six months
to be successfully converted from a jack up rig
will be mobilised to the Chendor oilfield which is
located off the coast of Terengganu by mid May 2006.
The MOPU has been completed on time to
facilitate the extraction of first oil by Petrofac
(Malaysia PM-304) Limited which has awarded
Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd an RM85 million
contract for two (2) years with an option to
extend for another six (6) years.
